Popular Baby Names for 2015

1. Liam and Emma

Liam is pretty out-of-the-box as far as baby names, go, but then you remember Liam Neeson from Taken, and it all makes sense.

If Emma seems familiar to you, that’s because it’s been ranked #1 on BabyCenter for the last five years. A few well-known Emmas include Emma Thompson, Emma Watson, and Emma Stone.

2. Noah and Olivia

Noah has been consistently popular over the years, and 2015 is no exception. It means “comfort” and “rest” in Hebrew.

Olivia always seems to get second place. But did you know that Shakespeare actually popularized the name in his play, “Twelfth Night?”

3. Mason and Sophia

Despite sounding like an uncommon name, Mason usually holds the third or fourth spot on this list year after year. Kourtney Kardashian even named her first son Mason.

While Sophia usually gets third place from BabyCenter users, it often has the top spot in the United States in general.

4. Ethan and Ava

Another Hebrew name, Ethan means “strong,” “safe” and “firm.” It’s a great name for any boy.

Ava is the Hebrew form of Eve, thus it’s been around for a very long time. It wasn’t until classic movie star Ava Gardner took the spotlight that the name really took off.

5. Logan and Isabella

Interestingly, Logan is a lot more popular with BabyCenter users than it is with the United States in general. It consistently gets into the top ten on BabyCenter while it sticks around the teens statistically.

Isabella has the opposite affect. It usually takes the fifth spot on BabyCenter but gets the first through fourth spots for the U.S. population baby name statistics.
