Bath Time Baby Gifts

When babies are past the infant stage, bath time becomes a bit more, hmmm-let's say "challenging." Every parent's goal should be to make bathing an enjoyable experience so baby will look forward to getting clean. One way to make this happen is to laugh, smile and talk while washing baby. Another big help is bath toys in the tub.
Bath toys are a good way to calm baby, who will begin to see the bathroom as a playground with water. Toys are a symbol of fun, so baby will associate baths with fun. When you buy bath toys for baby shower gifts and baby gifts, you're doing mom and dad a big favor. Corner Stork has some cute, colorful tub toys that also provide the various shapes, sizes and colors so important to baby’s development. The cheerful Squirty Tub Zoo baby bath toy fills the tub with a floating pig, penguin, hippo, monkey, cow, sheep and raccoon. In the Cars and Airplanes Squirty Baby Bath Gift Set, a plane and a helicopter come in for a landing, along with a car, truck, motorcycle, and a boat that looks right at home in the water. And no body of water would be complete without some squirty Sea Creatures Bath Toys-a whale, octopus, dolphin, turtle, shells and a crab, all with friendly faces. Have the right tub toys, and baby will love to get wet!

Corner Stories: The Rubber Duck

No one knows when the bath time favorite rubber duck was first created, but some historians believe they first appeared on the market as early as the late 1800's, when the advent of indoor plumbing sent Americans into the bath tub like never before. These early rubber ducks were made of harder rubber, and lacked the squeaker so popular today.

Today, some cities such as Knoxville, Tennessee and Dublin, Ireland, hold rubber duck races that draw thousands of contestants along their rivers. In 2006 the Dublin race along the river Liffey hosted 150,000 competing ducks!

It's believed that Queen Elizabeth II of England has her own rubber duck in her bathroom at Buckingham Palace. This royal duck has its own inflatable crown!

By the way, the modern rubber duck is not actually rubber at all, but a special kind of vinyl that floats more easily and is safer for children.
